Striped hat and scarf

R was really excited when she opened the striped hat and scarf that I made her for her birthday. "You knit this?" she exclaimed. She had forgotten that months ago she picked out the yarn at the shop with me. I was just happy that the hat fit and that the scarf wasn't too super long.

Unfortunately, the hat gets a little itchy if she wears it too long and she "hates scarves because they make her neck too warm." But she wore them a lot those first few days and I think she'll go back to them again at some point.
