The kids and I were home on our own for a couple days at the end of last week. I tried to think of several fun things to keep us busy on Saturday. I wanted to make a Halloween craft with them and purchased some pom poms and craft felt.
We had a great time making ghosts, monsters, and pumpkins. The kids were really in to it and putting some effort into their creations. But early on we realized we had a problem. Our school glue wasn't holding anything to the felt! I was disappointed that I hadn't purchased some appropriate glue, that now we wouldn't be able to make Halloween decorations, and that I had put a damper on our fun day.
The kids didn't care in the least. My daughter said, "We can still make great pictures, they just will be for now." My son gathered all of the pom poms from his ghost and played with them for a long time.
We decided to take a photo of our great decorations and I'll print a copy for my daughter to hang up in her room. Now I'm thinking about cutting shapes from the rest of the felt and treating it as a reusable toy for creating temporary pictures.

Oooh yes, felt doesn't like glue. I always use my hot glue gun - that's the only thing I've found to work with felt! (obviously I know that it's a bit to early for that)
It's awesome that Rebecca said that about "just for now"!
